Super Committee Election News

It’s time once again to think about who will represent you on the Super Committee. If you’ve never served on the Committee before, this is a great opportunity to get involved and to actively participate in the planning and operation of all of the Super Events.

As a member you will get to attend monthly meetings in the Opera House where you will work with the other members to plan all of the bake sales and other fundraisers. You will also have the fun of being part of the planning of the event of the year, the Super Party.

Contrary to popular myth, being on the Committee does not increase your chances of supering. However, as a committee member you might have an opportunity to volunteer to be Production Super Captain for specific operas during the season.

The rules are simple this year:
All supers who have ever appeared in a San Francisco Opera production are eligible to be nominated. Current Committee members who have served for three consecutive years must wait one year before being nominated again. Nominees must be prepared to commit to attending all meetings, bake sales, and other Committee-sponsored events. You will elect four members and the house will appoint four members from your nominations.

Feel free to nominate yourself. When nominating another super, please verify with that person that they are interested in being on the Committee.

Ballots based on your nominations will be available here on Spearheadnews on May 16th. Supers without email will receive ballots in the mail. All ballots must be returned by June 10th to be eligible.
