Under doctor's orders, Ulrica took a few days off (surgery was not involved) and went to Clear Lake to recuperate from a strenuous performing schedule and all of the previous week's activities. Unfortunately she had to miss Jaye Hepburn's East Bay barbecue Saturday night (elk was served, horses fed and a good time had...picture above) but, well rested, she dashed back Sunday morning just in time to attend the first bake sale of the season during the Magic Flute matinée.

The sale was another outstanding success and a startling $605 was raised, which will help finance the Annual Party at Fort Mason on Sunday, November 23rd. Special thanks go to Joan Imbeau for taking care of the cash, all the Don Carlos Supers who stopped by on their way to rehearsal and to everyone who brought and bought the fabulous array of food. (If anyone left behind any utensils please let the Super Committee know.) The next sale will be Sunday, October 26th during a Don Carlos matinée and will have a Spanish theme, of course. Ulrica is already dusting off her mantilla and will see you there. Ole!
