Financial Report

Income was $1265 from receipts for the upcoming Super Party, $10 from Milko Encinas to place an ad in the Spearhead, and  $816 from the Bake Sale; expenses were more extensive ($818.50) than usual because of the Super Party: $30 to Robert Ericsson for Albert and Karen Goodwyns refund for the party, $250 to Mimi for the caterers deposit, $500 to Fort Mason as the remainder of the cost for the room and equipment, $38.50 to Charlie for opening night candy. Our balance is -$1,210 as of November 17, 2003.

Paul noted that opening night candies are expensive and that 20 percent of Bake Sale receipts end up going to candy. He followed this with an update of the guest count and money received for the Super Party.

Old Business

Super Party: Mimi brought up the need to get our final guest count to the caterer; the Committee settled on 125. Mimi also reported on the menu and offered to pick up desserts at CostCo. Then followed a discussion of last years party that resulted in determining what supplies we needed this year. Susan offered to pick up coffee at Peets again. Andrew and Mimi offered to purchase the wine and other supplies.

Andrew reported on developments in the arrangements with Fort Mason re open flames and alcohol permits.

New Business

Super Party: The order of the program for the party was discussed followed by an extended discussion about the Hammy awards and who has earned one (N.B.: Paul invented the Hammy!).

Carrie left the meeting at 7:00. Irene left at 7:15. Departures were in no way connected with the discussion of the Hammies.

The meeting was adjourned at 7:50.

The next meeting will be January 7, 2004, at 6:30 pm in the 4th floor conference room of the Opera House. Priscilla will act as chair and Andrew will be secretary.
