Minutes of the Meeting

 

 

The following members of the Supernumerary Committee (the �Committee�) of the San Francisco Opera (the �Opera�) were present for all or parts of the meeting:

 

            Susan Anderson

Irene Bechtel

Mike Harvey

            Priscilla Lore

            Paul Szczesiul

            Kimberly Thompson

            Sally Warren

            Rob Wonder

 

            Also present was Carrie Murphy.  Paul served as Chair and Priscilla served as Secretary.

 

Paul called the meeting to order at 6:30 pm.

 

Financial Report

 

            No financial report was provided but it was reported that $759 from the Bake Sale was deposited to bring our total to $2750.20.

 

Susan volunteered to ask Joan if she would receive the checks for the Super Party. Also in connection with the party, Paul brought up extending an invitation to Pamela Rosenberg. Mike said he would design the invitation and Paul offered to deliver one to Pamela.

 

Old Business

 

Bake Sale:  Mike will bring turkey again to the upcoming Bake Sale. Susan and Irene offered to remind the Guild of the sale to coordinate with them. Timing of the sale was discussed.

 

Sara Jobin:  It was reported that a Super chocolate and a rose were given to Sara Jobin to wish her luck from the Supers on her conducting debuts.

 

Super Party:  Progress was reported on arrangements with the caterer as well as decorations. Bruce McNaughton offered to tend bar again.

 

Charlie Lichtman was reported to be working on the entertainment.

 

Hammies:  Discussion of who should receive them and who would make the awards this year. Priscilla offered to contact John Gianonis at the flower stand where he works from time to time. Paul offered to attempt to reach him by phone (Carrie mentioned that he hadn�t responded to her voicemails).  Other ideas for porcine-themed award items were discussed. Kimberly offered to look for pig snouts.

 

Minutes of the October 11, 2004, meeting were read and approved.

 

Other Business

 

            Irene noted that Clint Jennings had died and suggested that we send a card to his widow Esther.

 

            It was mentioned that people who don�t have e-mail are receiving their Spearhead newsletters late. Andrew Korniej is taking care of mailing the hard copies; Mike said he would talk to Andrew about continuing to mail hard copies.

 

The meeting was adjourned at 7:30.

 

The next meeting will be November 29, 2004, at 6:30 pm in the 4th floor conference room of the Opera House. Rob will act as chair.
