Irene
called the meeting to order at 6:40 pm and
blew out the candles on the birthday cake that Kimberly had made for Irenes
and Carries birthday.

minutes of the November 29, 2004, meeting were read and approved.
The Financial Report was mailed to Carrie who was absent, so there was no report for this meeting.
Old Business
Super
Party post mortem: All agreed that the party was a great success. Several
Committee members reported compliments and raves from attendees about the
entertainment and the caterer, with many people saying it was the best party
yet. Several changes were suggested for next year: move the dessert table so that people didnt eat dessert
before or instead of dinner (tsk). Paul suggested that we keep the program
short next year.
Irene and Kimberly reported that Jim Downey had died
unexpectedly very recently and suggested that Mike put a commemoration on the
Spearhead website that would include a request for donations to be made to the
Supers rather than flowers for the memorial.
Paul brought up the possibility of another garage sale. Charlie Lichtman was willing to host it
again and April 30 was proposed as the date, which would be posted on the
website. Paul would discuss with
Charlie the particulars of when he will accept donations and what sorts of
items are acceptable.
Then
followed discussion of who is responsible for having the Super of the Year
plaque engraved.
Bake sale dates for the summer season were discussed: during Pearlfishers (June 26 and July 3), Queen of Spades (June 12, June 19), Cos fan tutte (July 10last day of season). Susan suggested providing curbside pickup of food from donors to make it easier for them to bring items for the bake sale.
Mike suggested discontinuing the hard copy of the newsletter. Susan suggested that we phase it out gradually and send a bulleted list of news items and agenda items.
Susan said she would let us know when she is going to look at the San Francisco Yacht Club as a possible (free!) venue for this years party.
A general discussion of the new season followed.
The
meeting was adjourned at 7:25.
The
next meeting will be March 21, 2005, at 6:30 pm in the 4th floor
conference room of the Opera House. Kimberly will act as chair.
