In case you didn't catch it in this Sunday's New York Times "Arts & Leisure" section, there is an article on the tenor Marcello Giordani. The article mentions his long association with David Gockley at Houston, so he might come here. But it is his statement "Theatically I am self taught. ... Slowly,
step by step, I learned positions, postures, how to follow the beat. It was very hard. But I had the patience to to watch everything, even the Supers ... " (emphasis mine) that was a real knee slapper.
